In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the IEEE AU Student Cabinet hosted Hope Fair, an afternoon that raised awareness of breast cancer and brought the college community together.
The Innovation Center was decked out in pink balloons and gingham tables, with pink and white refreshments on offer. Visitors explored breast cancer through a series of stations, each with its own hands-on activity run by IEEE Cabinet members:
- Diagnostic simulation using mammography scans
- Fact or Myth, sorting true statements about breast cancer from false ones
- Threads of Hope, where visitors made their own bracelets and beaded ribbon pins
- Face painting with pink ribbon designs
- Words of Hope, a giant pink ribbon filled with star-shaped notes written for breast cancer patients and warriors
Roughly a hundred attendees came through the fair. Thank you to everyone who visited, made a pin or left a message of hope.
Together, we honoured every journey with empathy.
